September Class Feature
The Power of Common Plants: Backyard Plants &
Medicine Making
Saturday, September 24
1–5pm
This will be a fun journey into the
medicinal properties, historical uses, and magical lore of three very common,
yet powerful plants: Calendula, yarrow, and dandelion. This medicine grows
commonly where we live, yet is sometimes overlooked in favor of rare plants of
distant lands. We will discuss the power of “medicine of place,” the beauty of
healing from what we can find in our own backyard! Learn how and when to safely
harvest and process these plants as well as how to make medicinal preparations
including tinctures, infused oils, decoctions, and infusions. Everyone will
take home beautiful medicine and new skills!
